Exclusive to Nanushka, OKOBOR™ is our new alt-leather fabrication. Free from animal skin and the use of animal derivatives, OKOBOR™ is made with 56% recycled polyester and 44% polyurethane. A direct result of Nanushka’s ongoing material innovation, OKOBOR™ retains a superior quality and appearance, similar to that of leather.

As a fashion business with an approach that is deeply rooted in sustainability, Nanushka believes that beauty and elevation in design should not come at the expense of the world around us. We began our journey with the use of alt-leather in 2015, as a commitment to animal welfare, following up with the introduction of Regenerated Leather into our collections from 2021.

With the rise in awareness around resource scarcity and climate change, education surrounding our industry’s environmental impact has continued to evolve, and we at Nanushka recognise the need for further innovation. This understanding has resulted in dedicated research and development; OKOBOR™ is our first step towards reducing impact.
