The Nanushka Design
for Life Mentorship Program
A global mentorship program that supports young fashion talent from Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities.
The Design for Life program invites applicants from around the world to submit either a design or a print design to be included in Nanushka’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection. Along with their design being made available to buy as part of the seasonal Fall/Winter 2021 collection, the two winning applicants will also join the Nanushka design team for a three-month paid internship at the brand’s headquarters in Budapest, with travel, accommodation and living costs provided. Each successful candidate will be awarded 20% of the sales of their design, and Nanushka will invest 20% of the Fall/Winter 2021 sales back into the mentorship program.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, 8 December.
The program is part of Nanushka’s ongoing commitment to act against racism, to strive for equity and to end systemic issues of racial bias and injustice. The Nanushka Design For Life mentorship program will continue to grow into a more extensive, long-running project that will offer more opportunities to Black, Asian and minority ethnic fashion talent across a range of disciplines, from Marketing and PR, to Sustainability and Operations. It is a program steadfast in its dedication to support and connect with students at the start of their careers.
The brief
We invite applicants to submit either a garment or a print design to be featured in our FW21 collection.
Please email designforlife@nanushka.com to receive the mood board and seasonal color palette. Using these references, your application should comprise a technical drawing, a colour illustration and a hand-drawn sketch of your design showcased as part of a full look. Details, colours and materials should be specified as much as possible. We especially look forward to receiving design ideas built around sustainability, such as repair-as-craft, upcycling and zero waste.
