KNITWEAR CARE GUIDE

At Nanushka, we believe that if a garment is designed to function well, it will, by definition, be beautiful. Keeping a beautiful garment functional is also about after-care. Nanushka knitwear is designed to be worn season after season - crafted from natural fibres such as wool, merino wool and cashmere, each piece is made to offer warmth, softness and longevity. With a few mindful habits, your knitwear can retain its shape, color and texture for many years.

WASHING

Natural fibres don’t require frequent washing. Often, simply airing your knitwear after wearing it is enough to refresh it. When washing becomes necessary, gentle care is essential:

  • Always refer to the care label inside your garment for detailed washing instructions
  • Wash by hand whenever possible
  • Use cold water when possible - the temperature advice in the care label is the maximum, but you can always go lower in temperature to reduce energy consumption and preserve color vibrancy
  • Choose a mild detergent specifically designed for wool or delicate fabrics
  • If using a washing machine, select a delicate or wool cycle and place the garment in a laundry bag
  • Avoid fabric softeners, as they can damage the natural fibres

DRYING

How you dry your knitwear is just as important as how you wash it. Hanging knitwear while wet may cause the fabric to lose its shape, so flat drying is always recommended.

  • Lay the knit flat on a towel
  • Never twist the garment, as this can stretch the fibres
  • After washing, gently press out excess water using a clean towel
  • Reshape the garment while damp
  • Allow it to air dry naturally
  • Keep away from direct heat or sunlight
  • Never tumble dry
